Saint Mark's Oktoberfest is coming up on October 13th! The event will run 5-7:30 pm in the school cafeteria. There will be a traditional German dinner served, along with drinks and a special keg of Oktoberfest from Blue Door Pub! The children will be able to play games in the gym and we will be having a kid's contest for best halloween costume. We look forward to seeing you all there!
By next fall, all Marker parents will need to complete a Virtus Training course. We will be hosting two sessions on site, with the first being held on October 5th from 6-9 pm in Carolyn Hall. However, you may go to any open session. For more information on session locations and times, as well as any other questions you may have, please check out Virtus Online.
Additionally, in keeping with our efforts to promote ongoing safety for our school, please take a look at this article from Virtus Online which is also going home with students in grades K-2 today.
This year's CARE-a-Thon will be the week of October 30th-November 3rd. We are excited to announce that we will be traveling to local organizations to work on service projects with the children throughout the week. Keep an eye out for more information in the weekend update and in the children's back packs!
Employer Gift Matching
Now is the best time of year to ask your employer if it does any charitable gift matching. Saint Mark’s benefits tremendously by current donors who seek employer matches. This is a relatively easy way to support your children’s school. Thank you!
You have likely been asked at one time or another, "What does it mean that you send your children to a Catholic IDEALS school?". This video, courtesy of Sarah Schwab, explains it all!
Bike To School Day
We will be having our semi-annual Walk and Bike to School day on October 4th. For more information about this national event and why we participate, read here.
