Thank you to everyone who attended our Beer Sampler this past Friday! A special thank you to all of our staff and volunteers, we successfully fundraised $5000.00 before expenses and are excited to plan the next one!
Weekly Update Under Construction
Thank you for your patience as we work to improve our weekly update communication tools. In the next couple of weeks, there may be a few more changes to our weekly communications. Big thanks to Cecilia Miller from Teach For Christ who has been working hard to help us improve the updates to make them increasingly accessible for our families. Of course, family feedback is always welcome.
Email Communication: A Required Link In Our Partnership
We rely on email for important communications with you. In our continuing partnership with you, Saint Mark’s Catholic School relies on email communication for important administrative and academic topics. This allows us to help one another succeed daily in serving the kids and strengthens our partnership. All parents and guardians were required to provide an email address during registration, to keep their address current in TADS. Please ensure the following:
1. Update your contact list in your email to include:
2. Confirm your email address in TADS and update it if you make any changes.
3. Please check your emails a minimum of 2-3 times a week so you do not miss out on important information.
Top 20 Topic Of The Month
September's Top 20 topic of the month is "Creating a Culture of Learning." Please refer to Chapters 1 and 2 of the Top 20 Journal in order to learn more about this topic and what we are talking about with the children at school. It is always a valuable experience to hear about families living the Top 20 way at home too! To assist you in being a Top 20 home, journals are still available for pick up any time (free of charge) in the Lion's Den!
Ignite: September Faith Challenge With Sr. Fabiola And Br. Cesar
With the school year starting, so is our third year with the Ignite Youth Ministry Program for our 6th and 8th graders. This year, we are introducing a monthly challenge throughout the year to inspire the children to dig deep, learn more about their faith, and grow closer to God. We are kicking off the year with our September Challenge: Fun Facts of Our Faith! We have a new bulletin board created specifically for the challenge and we are asking the children to come up with their favorite/best/most interesting facts about the faith and post them to the board as they come up with them. There will be a weekly winner, as well as an overall winner for the month of September! Happy Fact Finding!
Morning Drop Off And Afternoon Pick Up
During morning drop off, please drop off on west-bound of Dayton Avenue and exit quickly. Adults who would like to stay at school for more than a moment are welcome to park in the lot, but for student safety, people may not park during drop off time on Dayton Ave.
During afternoon pick up, it is okay to park in the lot and wait but please do not park on the street to wait. Additionally, please stay and socialize! We enjoy your friendship and it is great to catch up with teachers and other parents.
Lastly, it is essential that parents remain present to attend to their children on the playground if they choose to hang out for a while.
Watch your child’s backpack for updates to this year’s CARE-a-thon fundraiser and week of service. This year’s plans promise great opportunities for service, learning, and growth.
By now, many of you have heard that the demand for our Pre School is increasing and we have had to put prospective students on a waitlist. However, there are limited openings in both the Star Room and Sunshine Room for children of the appropriate age. Please feel free to reach out if you or friends/family members are still interested in enrolling a student in Pre School.
News And Upcoming Events
Our first Marker Monday is Monday, September 25th from 4-8 pm at the Jimmy John's on Snelling Avenue. Feel free to dine in or take out, ditch the dish washing, and enjoy the community while benefiting our school!

Thank you to everyone who stuffs their receipts in the St Mark's box on their way out of Kowalski's on Grand Ave! Through Kowalski's Groceries for Good program, we have been the recipient of quarterly donations for almost 5 years. At the end of the calendar quarter, Kowalski's divides a gift among the charities in the boxes. As long as St Mark's doesn't have the fewest number of receipts in the box, we stay on the board. Keep stuffing the box!
