Saint Mark’s offers a complete Girl Scouts program with troops in many of the grades.
Troops are open to girls from the Saint Mark’s school and parish, as well as the larger local community. There are around forty girls involved in Girl Scouts at Saint Mark’s School, with around ten leaders.
The focus of our Girl Scouts program is to teach leadership skills through gradually increasing responsibilities each year. At Saint Mark’s, we strive to uphold the Girl Scout Mission; “Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place.” Meetings are in the building after school.
The program fosters healthy behaviors and practical life skills, preparing them as they move through their school years and young adult lives. Some of our girls stay with their troops well into high school. Activities include:
- Earning Badges
- Participation in Council-wide Social Activities
- Scuba diving
- Horseback riding
- Community service
- Rock climbing
and many other Girl Scout events!
