Boy Scouts/Cub Scouts

Have Fun with Scouting

Saint Mark’s has a longstanding relationship with the Boy Scouts of America that dates back to 1910. Our Cub Scout program, Pack #1, is open to all boys ages 6– 10. Our Boy Scout program, Troop #1, is open to all young men ages 11 – 18.

The purpose of the Boy Scout/Cub Scout program is best summed up by the Boy Scout’s of America mission and vision statements.

Mission Statement
The mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.

Vision Statement
The Boy Scouts of America will prepare every eligible youth in America to become a responsible participating citizen and leader who is guided by the Scout Oath and Law.

The biggest benefit perhaps comes to the community as these young men are mentored to be responsible, confident, and caring young men. They are encouraged to give back to the community through public service projects. Along the way they will learn skills and pick up interests that will last them a lifetime.

Some of our activities include:

  • Camping
  • Backpacking
  • Canoe Trips
  • Winter Camping
  • Spelunking (cave exploration)
  • Great Lakes Sailing

Cub Scouts

Saint Mark's Pack 1 (boys in 1st - 5th grade) is a very active Cub Scout Pack with emphasis on camping and outdoor activities. This is an excellent opportunity for parents to attend 3-4 camping activities in a safe and controlled environment. Camping, hiking, climbing, rocket launches, BBGun, archery and more. The Pack meets the third Tuesday of most months at 6:45pm. Age specific den groups also meet during the month to work on small group activities.
